CA-PCSRX
One of the nice things about this cell phone booster is its range. It is designed for the PCS band 1850 – 1990 MHz and can function with GSM. In addition it can work with the CDMA and TDMA.
Because it’s compatible with numerous services, you don’t have to worry about your cell phone not being attuned with it. The PCS band by the way, is carried by T Mobile Cingular, Sprint and many others.
Reliability
When you put the device in place, it amps the power of your cell phone by 2 watts. In non technical terms, it means the CA-PCSRX expands the coverage of your cell. This is true even when you are mobile. Also noteworthy is the consistency of the signal and its stability. Even if you move around or go through known weak spots, the connection stays stable.
Long Term Use
The 2 watt increase is equivalent to about 10x increase in signal power. This isn’t always applicable of course. However the connection isn’t just maintained. The signal booster also helps improve the voice quality. There is less of the static that comes when calling from far flung places. The delays or pauses are also reduced quite significantly.
Battery Life and Compact Size
The CA-PCSRX battery life is also remarkable. Fully charged, it can last for a long time even when used frequently. As far as carrying it with you, the device can be mounted virtually anywhere. It can be set on most car kits. Its compact size means you can place it on RVs, boats etc. it doesn’t occupy a lot of space, and isn’t that bulky either.
Two Way Amplifier
The way it works is by augmenting both transmission and reception. It doesn’t just increase your phone signal; it boosts the tower transmission as well. Because it works both ways, the boost will come from both ends. In technical terms, this is a bi directional modification of the carrier to your device. This technology is what keeps dropped calls to a minimum.
Items Included with the CA-PCSRX
The device comes with the MiniMag 5 dB gain antenna. This is a magnetic mount and has the cables ready. It also comes with the cigarette adapter for 12v types. If you’re going to use it inside the house, the 110v pack will be useful. This includes the 4” antenna.
For indoor utilization you just link the device to your phone with an adapter cable. Take one of the antennas and connect the 110v. If you want more power, you can try the CAY1912 exterior antenna instead.
If it’s for mobile use, just connect it with your phone. Again just use one of the adapters and put the magnetic mount on. Set it on the roof / trunk and turn on the 110v.
The CA-PCSRX isn’t perfect, but it does a pretty good job of keeping signals and connections straight and true. Those who are tired of dropped calls can give this one a try.
